Teeing for a Miracle raises $100,000
Teeing Off For a Miracle marked its sixth anniversary on Friday June 14, 2019. The tournament hosted by the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation (TJSF) is in support of the annual Miracle on Main St. This year’s edition was held at Granite Ridge Golf Tournament, and raised $100,000 that will be used in support of charity.
Escarpment Artists 6th Annual Art Sale attracts art lovers
The beginnin Artists group owes a lot to happenstance as local artists g of the Escarpment came together to lend their creative talents to the Rotary Clubs ‘Camel Race’ fundraiser back in 2013.
“We had a really fun time together,” says Diana Tuszynski, artist and business owner, “so why don’t we take this group and do something with it. We decided it would be fun to show together, as it would be an efficient use of our time as well as to pool our resources.”
SuperStarrs 2 Superheros
Kids entertainment was top of mind at this year’s annual SuperStarrs 2 SuperHeros event – benefiting the Toronto Sick Kids Foundation. Children visiting with their families were encouraged to dress up as their favorite fictional character or superhero. The event’s organizers are Leesa Ervin and Deana Wilson. Wilson is a Milton mother who aims to raise awareness for cystic fibrosis – her son Liam was diagnosed with the disease at 3 weeks old.
Rotarians Give Generously
The Rotary Club of Milton makes up a team of good Samaritans who are committed to raising and distributing funds for important community causes. Their history within our town stretches more than 65 years. On May 28, 2019, Rotarians gathered with supporters to announce the recipients of their various awards and donations.
Cricket Season Kicks off in Milton
Summer in Milton for the last four years has meant cricket on the pitch at Sherwood Park. The Events Ontario Softball Cricket League kicked off its fourth season with an event June 15, 2019 at the EC Drury High Schools sports complex.
